JEE Main 2027 Registration: Dates, Fees & Application Form

Learn everything about JEE Main 2027 registration, including expected dates, eligibility criteria, required documents, application fees, and step-by-step form filling instructions. Prepare early and avoid common application mistakes.

The JEE Main 2027 application form is almost here. NTA has already fixed the Session 1 exam window for January 2027, and registration usually opens a few weeks before the exam. That leaves little time to fix document errors, so this guide covers the expected dates, who can apply, what to keep ready, the fees, and how to fill the form.

JEE Main 2027 Registration: Latest Status

As of 15 October 2026, NTA has not released the official notification or opened the application link. Candidates should apply only through jeemain.nta.nic.in. Dates in this article marked “expected” are based on past patterns and will be updated once NTA publishes the Information Bulletin.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

NTA will confirm the criteria in the bulletin, but the framework has stayed stable:

  • Class 12 year: you should have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026, or be appearing in 2027.

  • Class 11 students: if you are in Class 11 now, you are not eligible this year and will apply for JEE Main 2028.

  • Age limit: none.

  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for B.E./B.Tech. Different subject rules apply to B.Arch and B.Planning.

  • Attempts: up to three consecutive years, with two sessions each year.

Class 12 marks have no bearing on the application itself. Separate minimum-marks rules apply later at the admission and counselling stage.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2027 Registration

Keep these ready before the form opens:

  • Aadhaar card (or DigiLocker access): Make sure the name and date of birth match your Class 10 certificate exactly. NTA has previously advised candidates to update Aadhaar details before applying.

  • Alternative ID: such as a passport or PAN, only if you skip Aadhaar or DigiLocker.

  • Class 10 certificate (PDF).

  • Passport-size photograph and scanned signature.

  • Category certificate (EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST), if applicable.

  • UDID or disability certificate, if applicable.

  • Active mobile number and email ID: Use your own, since all NTA communication goes there.

Use a recent photo with your face clearly visible against a plain light background. Sign on white paper with a black or blue pen. Some portals also ask for a live photo captured through your webcam or phone, so check for that step.

JEE Main 2027 Application Fee

The 2027 fee table will come with the bulletin. For reference, the 2026 fees for one paper at a centre in India were:

Category

Fee

General (Male)

₹1,000

General (Female)

₹800

Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL (Male)

₹900

Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL (Female)

Centres outside India cost more. Applying for additional papers, such as B.Arch or B. Planning along with B.Tech, means paying extra. Fees can be paid online by UPI, net banking, or debit or credit card.

How to Fill the JEE Main 2027 Application Form (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit the official website: Navigate to Open jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on the "JEE Main 2027 Session 1" registration link when it becomes available.

  2. Sign up: Fill out your profile with your name, mobile number, and email, and verify it via Aadhaar or DigiLocker.

  3. Log in and complete your information: Please input your information as it is recorded in your Class 10 documents, including your personal details, academic information, and category.

  4. Choose your paper and exam city: Select B.E./B. Tech, B.Arch, or B. Plan and choose your exam centres.

  5. Upload documents: Please upload your photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate, and any category certificate in the required sizes and formats.

  6. Make the payment: Make an online payment and ensure it is successful.

  7. Submit and download: Save the confirmation page PDF & print it.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Mismatch between the name or DOB in the Aadhaar and Class 10 certificate. This is the most frequent reason for verification difficulties.

  • Uploads that are blurry or the wrong size: Make sure that the size is in KB before uploading.

  • Incorrect category choice: Only upload valid and current certificates.

  • Avoid using another person's phone number or email address: You may not receive important updates.

  • Last minute applications: Servers slow down towards the deadline.

  • The time to correct the window: NTA will open up after the deadline but do not say that is the time to correct, just use it a safety net or a time to correct.

What Should You Do Right Now?

You can use the time before registration opens well:

  • Correct the Aadhaar mismatch before as it may take some time for update.

  • Take a photo, signature and Class 10 certificate and scan them in the proper dimensions.

  • Have your category certificate checked and prepared.

  • Bookmark the NTA website, and only follow the official notification.

  • Use the weeks before January for full-length practice. Take a free mock test on TestHub, review your analysis, and plan your final months with our mock test plan for Class 12.

Final Word

Registration is a simple process, but small errors in documents and details cause the most trouble. Prepare your files now, apply early once NTA opens the window, and keep checking the official website for updates. In the meantime, use your preparation time well. After registration, your real work is mock tests and analysis, and you can start both with TestHub’s free mock and JEE Main rank predictor.
