NTA has officially confirmed that the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 result will be declared on April 20, 2026. The result link will go live on the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in and candidates will need their Application Number and Password or Date of Birth to access their scorecard.

What the Session 2 Result Actually Decides?

This is not just another result announcement.  The qualifying cutoff percentile for JEE Advanced is also declared with this result, and it determines admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA counselling. 

In short, Session 1 gave you a score. Session 2 gives you a rank.

The scorecard does not show raw marks but rather a percentile score, indicating the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below a particular candidate in that specific session.

Expected Category-wise Cutoff for JEE Advanced 2026

To be able to take JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must be in the top 2.5 lakh among those who took Paper 1 (BE/BTech).

The NTA will announce the official cutoff on April 20, the same day it announces the results.

1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in

2. Click on "JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Result" link on the homepage

3. Enter your Application Number and Password / Date of Birth

4. Click Submit

5. Your scorecard will appear on screen

6. Download and save the PDF, you will need it for JEE Advanced registration and JoSAA counselling.

What Comes Next After April 20?

If you qualify for JEE Advanced 2026:

Registration opens April 23 and closes May 2, 2026. Fee payment deadline is May 4, 2026. The exam is scheduled for May 17, 2026. Amity Online The registration window is tight, do not lose days celebrating.

If you are targeting NITs, IIITs, GFTIs:

JoSAA counselling is likely to begin from June 2, 2026, after JEE Advanced results. Your AIR from JEE Mains determines your seat. Keep all documents — Class 10 & 12 marksheets, category certificate, photo ID, ready well in advance.
