In the electrical network shown in the figure, What will be the potential difference (in volt) across3 Ωresistance?

Answer:
24.00
Solution:

As3 Ωand6 Ωresistances are

In parallel, their equivalent resistance will be 2Ω. Here 2Ωand 4Ωare in series, their equivalent resistance will be 6Ω. From current distribution law

i1=12×1818=12 A

i2=6×1818=6 A

Now, 12 A current is entering in the parallel combination of3 Ωand6 Ωagain from current distribution law

i1′′=6×129=8 A

i2′′=3×129=4 A.

∴ The potential difference across3 Ωresistance

=8×3=24 V
