$= {[M]}^{x + y} {[L]}^{0} {[T]}^{- 2 y}$

Comparing the powers on $M$ , $L$ and $T$

$- 2 y = - 1$

$\Rightarrow y = \frac{1}{2}$

And $x + y = 0$

$∴ x = - y = - \frac{1}{2}$
