A simple pendulum of length l has maximum angular displacement θ. The maximum kinetic energy of the bob of mass m is ( g= acceleration due to gravity)

Options:

Answer:
C
Solution:

When bob is at rest, the pendulum has only potential energy which is given asP.E=mgl

When the bob is released from maximum displaced position, it will lose  P.E. and gain K.E

Thus loss in P.E = gain in K.E

∴    K.E=mgl−mglcosθ=mgl( 1−cosθ )
