Solution:

For $d_{1} = 120 c m$ : $\frac{3}{2 v} - \frac{1}{- 120} = \frac{3/2 - 1}{60}$ gives $v = \infty$ , so the ray strikes the mirror normally and retraces its path for any $d_{2}$ (A)

For $d_{1} = 240 c m$ : $v = 360 c m$ , so the ray retraces only if the first image forms at the mirror, i.e. $d_{2} = 360 c m$ (B)
