Thorax of Cockroach is made up of 3 segments - prothorax, mesothorax and metathorax. Neck is the anterior extension of prothorax. Thorax bears the following structures:

A. Legs -1 pair of jointed legs are found in each thoracic segment (6 in number - hexapod).

B. Wings -2 pairs of wings are found :1 pair of mesothoracic wings or tegmina (dark coloured, opaque and leathery, meant for covering of hindwings when at rest) and 1 pair of metathoracic wings (thin, membranous and true wings for flying).
