Solution:

For the masses: $T_{1} - 30 = 3 a_{1}$ and $T_{1} - 60 = 6 a_{2}$

Pulley accelerating up at 2 m/s $^{2}$ : $a_{1} + a_{2} = 2 \times 2 = 4$

$\frac{T _{1} - 30}{3} + \frac{T _{1} - 60}{6} = 4$ , so $3 T_{1} = 144$ and $T_{1} = 48$ N

$T_{2} = 2 T_{1} = 96 = \frac{288}{x}$ , so $x = 3$
