Along the line of impact 2 kg sphere is having velocity $23 m / s$ and 4 kg sphere is having velocity $- 3 m / s$ .

Along the line impact

$2 \times 23 - 43 = 2 V_{1} + 4 V_{2}$

$V_{1} + 2 V_{2} = 0 (1)$

$e = \frac{V _{2} - V _{1}}{V _{1} - V _{2}} = \frac{V _{2} - V _{1}}{2 3 + 3} \Rightarrow V_{2} - V_{1} = 3 (2)$

From (1) and (2) $V_{2} = \frac{1}{3} m / s; V_{1} = - \frac{2}{3} m / s$
