A bus is moving with constant acceleration along a horizontal stretch of highway from BC, Vigyan Nagar to Gaurav Tower. Inside the bus, a block of unknown mass is suspended using two horizontal and two vertical springs as shown. The force of tension in each spring is given in the diagram, when the block remains at rest w.r.t. bus. Find acceleration (in cm/s2) of the bus. [Assume all strings a extended]

No vertical acceleration of the block, so vertical forces balance: $30 = m g + 10$

$m g = 20 \Rightarrow m = 2$ kg

Net horizontal spring force on the block: $F = 15 - 10 = 5$ N
