Passage / Comprehension

Two ice cubes each have side 10 cm and a central cavity of volume . The cavities contain materials A and B, of specific gravity 4.9 and 1.9 respectively.
They are placed in separate vessels of equal base area with equal initial water level. The ice melts uniformly from every side at the same constant rate. Specific gravity of ice is 0.9.

Choose the correct graph showing the variation of heights of water-level in two vessels with time

Options:

Answer:
D
Solution:

Both water levels stay constant while the cubes float.
A contains the heavier filling, so it sinks first. Afterward, melting ice from A reduces its water level.
For A, at the instant of sinking:

B sinks later, after more ice has melted:

Their levels meet when B starts sinking, not later: the initial gap is 60/A; A then loses (1-0.9)(600)/A=60/A in height while B remains level. After B sinks, equal melt rates give equal downward slopes, so the already-matched levels remain together.
This is graph D.
