A system is observed for different types of processes. List-I has the various effects possible during the process. List-II describes types of systems undergoing different processes. Match the effects in List-I with the related systems in List-II.

List - I

List - II

(I) Position of center of mass of the
system remains fixed.

(P) Two bodies of masses m and M moving uniformly in
same direction on a smooth surface.

(II) Velocity of center of mass of the
system remains constant.

(Q) A moving body of finite mass have elastic head on
collision with another identical body which is initially
at rest.

(III) Momentum of system remains
constant.

(R) Two perfectly elastic balls of equal mass, equal
speed but moving in opposite directions collides
head on with each other.

(IV) Kinetic energy of system remains
constant.

(S) Two balls of unequal mass, same speed but moving
in opposite directions collides head on with each
other and stick together.

(T) A flat bed cart of mass M has an initial velocity u ,
along a smooth horizontal surface. Snow is falling
vertically with negligible speed and depositing on
cart at . Assume falling snow and cart both
as a system.

Answer:
4
Solution:

Position of COM remains fixed when this is happening only in case 3 of list-II. and constant, when this is happening in all cases of list-II KE will be constant only in case-I of list because there is no work done by any external or internal forces during the process.
