Identify the correct order for the given property for following compounds

Choose the correct answer from the option given below :-

Question diagram: Identify the correct order for the given property for follow

Options:

Answer:
B
Solution:

The boiling point of organic compounds depends on two factors:

(i) Molecular weight: Boiling point increases with increase in molecular weight.

(ii) Intermolecular forces: Higher the strength of intermolecular forces, higher is the boiling point.

As the mass of the compound increases then their boiling point will also increase. Hence, (A) and (C) are correct.

Density of Et-Cl = 0.89 g/ml

                 Et-Br = 1.47 g/ml

                 Et-I = 1.94 g/ml

Density of halides increases with number of carbon atoms and at mass of halogen present. So, (B) and (D) is incorrect.

As branching of the compound increases then boiling point decreases. Hence, (E) is correct.

So, the correct answer is (A), (C) and (E) only.
