Consider the following reaction.

On estimation of bromine in 1.00 g of R using Carius method, the amount of AgBr formed (in g) is____[Given: Atomic mass of H=1, C=12, O=16, P=31, Br=80, Ag=108]

Answer:
1.50
Solution:

2P+3Br22PBr3

Number of moles in 1gm of R=1250

using Carius method all the Br will be converted into AgBr. So, using POAC method

Number of moles of AgBr formed from R=2250

Mass of AgBr formed =2×188250=1.50gm
