Answer:
A
Solution:

The full form of IUD is an intrauterine device. It is a device inserted through vaginal in the uterus. It is used to delay pregnancy in females. Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCD) are plastic or metal objects placed in the uterus by a doctor. These include loop, cooper-T, spirals, ring, bowl, shield, etc. IUDs increase phagocytosis of sperms within the uterus and the Cu ions released suppress sperm motility and the fertilizing capacity of sperms. Infertility cases either due to the inability of the male partner to inseminate the female or due to very low sperm counts in the ejaculates could be corrected by artificial insemination (AI) technique. In this technique, the semen collected either from the husband or a healthy donor is artificially introduced either into the vagina or into the uterus (IUI – intra-uterine insemination) of the female. GIFT stands for Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer. In this method an ovum from a female and sperms from a male are directly transferred into the upper regions of Fallopian tube of a female who can provide suitable environment for fertilization and development. Intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is another specialised procedure to form an embryo in the laboratory in which a sperm is directly injected into the ovum.
