Arrange the following in descending order of their size.

Options:

Answer:
B
Solution:

DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid is the long chain polynucleotide which forms the hereditary material in all organisms. It is a double-stranded helical structure having the length of approx. 2.2m.

Single-stranded RNA molecule transcribed from the template strand of DNA is the mRNA or messenger RNA. This RNA formed in nucleus moves to cytoplasm where it is translated to make proteins. It is the larger in size as compared to rRNA and tRNA.

The RNA which in combination with proteins forms ribosomes is the rRNA. It forms 80% of the RNA of the cell. It is smaller than mRNA but larger than tRNA.

The RNA which carries amino acids from cytoplasm and transfer it to the growing peptide chain is called tRNA. It is the smallest RNA.
