Release of the second polar body from human egg occurs

Options:

Answer:
A
Solution:

During the process of oogenesis, the cells start dividing and there is a phase of temporary arrest where it forms the primary oocyte. These oocytes then form the primary follicles which degenerate during puberty. When these primary follicles get surrounded by more layers of granulosa cells they form the secondary follicle, which gets transformed into the tertiary follicle. When the tertiary follicle grows it undergoes first meiotic division and releases the first polar body and a secondary oocyte. The secondary oocyte then completes its second meiotic division and releases the second polar body after the entry of sperms.
