Answer:
Solution:
The Alimentary canal consists of four layers. The innermost layer i.e. surrounding the lumen is the mucosa layer. This layer consists of epithelium, Lamina propria and muscularis mucosae. The second layer surrounding the mucosa layer is sub mucosa which consists of MALT (Mucosal associated lymphoid tissue). The third layer is the muscularis layer. This is made up of two layers of muscles. Inner layer of circular muscles and outer is of longitudinal muscles. These layers are responsible for peristalsis. The stomach shows extra oblique layer too as churning movements are also seen in the stomach. In stomach the oblique muscles form the inner layer, middle is by circular and outer layer is of longitudinal muscles. The outermost layer or the fourth layer is the serosa.
