Answer:
D
Solution:
The pituitary gland is a pea-sized oval structure, suspended from the underside of the brain by the pituitary stalk (known as the infundibulum). It sits within a small depression in the sphenoid bone, known as the sella turcica (''Turkish saddle''). It is divided anatomically into an adenohypophysis and a neurohypophysis. Adenohypophysis consists of two portions, pars distalis, and pars intermedia. Pars intermedia secretes only one hormone called melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH). However, in humans, the pars intermedia is almost merged with pars distalis.
