Options:

Answer:
A
Solution:

The Adrenal gland is composed of two types of tissues the inner adrenal medulla and the outer adrenal cortex. The cortex can be divided in to Zona Reticularis, Zona Fasciculata and Zona Glomerulosa from inside out. The cortex secretes various hormones commonly known as corticoids. Zona reticularis secretes androgenic hormones also known as sex corticoids which play a role in the growth of axial hair, pubic hair and facial hair during puberty. Glucocorticoids which play a role in carbohydrate metabolism are secreted by the zona fasciculate. Aldosterone, a mineralocorticoid, plays a role in regulation of water and electrolyte balance and is secreted by Zona glomerulosa.
