Under which of the following condition, the oxyhaemoglobin dissociation curve shifts to left?

Options:

Answer:
C
Solution:

When pH increases, the hydrogen ion concentration decreases, pCO2decreases and the partial pressure of oxygen increases due to the formation of more oxyhemoglobin. Less hydrogen ion concentration will not be able to alter amino acid residues and will increase affinity to oxygen. An increase in the pH shifts the curve to the left direction. When pH falls, the hydrogen ion concentration becomes high. The dissociation of oxyhemoglobin will start due to which the curve will shift to the right side. This is called the Bohr's effect. An increase in carbon dioxide and temperature shifts the curve to the right.
