Which if these correctly describes the valves of the heart?

Options:

Answer:
B
Solution:

The valve present between the right atrium and right ventricle is the right atrioventricular valve also called the tricuspid valve as it has three cusps. It allows movement of deoxygenated blood from the right atrium to right ventricle but prevents the backflow of blood from the right ventricle.

The valve present between the left atrium and left ventricle is the left atrioventricular valve also called the bicuspid valve (mitral valve) as it has two cusps. It allows movement of oxygenated blood from the left atrium to left ventricle but prevents the backflow of blood from the left ventricle.

The opening of the right ventricle into the pulmonary trunk is guarded by a pulmonary semilunar valve. While the aortic semilunar valve guards the opening between left ventricle and aorta.
