Which enzymes are not used for isolation of the DNA?

I. Cellulase
II. Lysozyme
III. DNase
IV. Lyase

Options:

Answer:
C
Solution:

Since the DNA is enclosed within the membranes, we have to break the cell open to release DNA along with other macromolecules such as RNA, proteins, polysaccharides and  lipids. This can be achieved by treating the bacterial cells or plant or animal tissue with enzymes such as lysozyme (bacteria), cellulase (plant cells) and chitinase (fungus). DNase is used to break down DNA while Lyase is a class of enzyme which breaks substrate to produce double bonds.
