With $m_{1} = 4 m_{2}$ : $a_{1} = \frac{g}{4}$ and $a_{2} = \frac{g}{2}$

$m_{1}$ lands after falling 0.2 m ( $t = 0.4$ s); $m_{2}$ has risen 0.4 m with $v = \frac{g}{2} \times 0.4 = 2$ m/s

After the thread slackens, $m_{2}$ rises $s = \frac{v ^{2}}{2 g} = 0.2$ m more

Maximum height $= 0.4 + 0.2 = 0.6$ m $= 60$ cm
