If the radius of a nucleus with mass number125is1.5 fm, then the radius of a nucleus with mass number64is

Options:

Answer:
D
Solution:

By Rutherford's experiment

R1=R0A113.....(i)

R2=R0 A213......(ii)

Given,

R1=1.5 fm

A1=125

A2=64

Now,R1R2=A1A213[from the equation (i) and (ii)]

1.5R2=1256413

⇒1.5R2=54

⇒R2=1.5×45=0.3×4

=1.2 fm
