Solution:

Here we use sum and difference method.

$\frac{M_{2}}{M_{1}} = \frac{T_{2}^{2} - T_{1}^{2}}{T_{2}^{2} + T_{1}^{2}}$

Where $T_{1}$ and $T_{2}$ are time periods

$T \propto \frac{1}{n}$ $(∵ n i s f r e q u e n c y .)$

$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{M_{1}}{M_{2}} = \frac{n_{1}^{2} + n_{2}^{2}}{n_{1}^{2} - n_{2}^{2}}$

$= \frac{{(12)}^{2} + {(4)}^{2}}{{(12)}^{2} - {(4)}^{2}} = \frac{144 + 16}{144 - 16} = \frac{10}{8} = 1.25$
