Given $R = 3 km = 3000 m$

Range, $R = u \sqrt{\frac{2 h}{g}}$

$\Rightarrow u = R \sqrt{\frac{g}{2 h}}$ or $u = 3000 \times \sqrt{\frac{10}{2 \times 2000}}$

$= 3000 \times \frac{1}{20}$

$= 150 m s^{- 1}$

$= 150 \times \frac{18}{5} km h^{- 1}$

$= 540 km h^{- 1}$
