What will be the ratio of acceleration due to gravity on the surface of the earth to the acceleration due to gravity at a height3Rabove the earth's surface? (R= radius of earth)

Answer:
16.00
Solution:

The value of acceleration due to gravity changes with height (ie, altitude). If g is the acceleration due to gravity at a point, at height h above the surface of earth, then

                    g=GMR+h2

but,              g=GMR2

   gg=GMR+h2×R2GM=R2R+h2

Here,   g=GMR+h2=GMR+3R2

                  =GM4R2=GM16R2=ge16

            geg'=16
