Rotating liquid surface: $y = \frac{ω ^{2} x ^{2}}{2 g} \Rightarrow \frac{d y}{d x} = \frac{ω ^{2} x}{g}$

At $x = \frac{1}{2} m, ω = 25$ : slope $= \frac{20 \times \frac{1}{2}}{10} = 1$ , so normal makes 45° with vertical ⇒ i = 45°.

Snell's law: $1 \times sin 4 5^{\circ} = 2 sin r \Rightarrow r = 3 0^{\circ}$ .

$n \times 1 0^{\circ} = 3 0^{\circ} \Rightarrow n = 3$
