A bent tube is lowered into water stream as shown in the figure. The velocity of the stream relative to the tube is equal to $V = 2 m / s$ . Apply Bernoulli's theorem between the incoming stream and the highest point of the water jet. Let h' be the inlet depth and P0 the atmospheric pressure.

$P_{0} + ρ g h' + \frac{1}{2} ρ V^{2}$

$= P_{0} + ρ g (h' + h_{0} + h)$

Cancel atmospheric pressure and inlet-depth terms:

$\frac{V ^{2}}{2 g} = h_{0} + h$

$h = \frac{2 ^{2}}{2 ( 10 )} - 0.10$

$h = 0.10 m = 10 cm$

The correct option is B.
