Let A2,1, B1,0, Cα,β and Dγ,δ be the vertices of a parallelogram ABCD. If the point C lies on 2xy=5 and the point D lies on 3x2y=6, then the value of α+β+γ+δ is equal to ______.

Question diagram: Let A − 2 , − 1 , B 1 , 0 , C α , β and D γ , δ be the verti
Answer:
32.00
Solution:

Given,

A2,1, B1,0, Cα,β and Dγ,δ be the vertices of a parallelogram ABCD

And the point C lies on 2xy=5 and the point D lies on 3x2y=6,

Now, plotting the diagram we get,

Now, using the midpoint formula we get,

Pα22,β12γ+12,δ2

Now, on comparing we get,

α22=γ+12 and β12=δ2

αγ=3      ... (1), βδ=1      ... (2)

Also, given γ,δ lies on 3x2y=6

3γ2δ=6       ...3

And α,β lies on 2xy=5

2αβ=5      ...(4)

On solving equations (1), (2), (3), (4) we get,

α=3, β=11, γ=6, δ=12

Hence, α+β+γ+δ=-3-11-6-12=32
