If the ellipsex2a2+y2b2=1meets the linex7+y26=1on thex-axis and the linex7-y26=1on they-axis, then the eccentricity of the ellipse is

Options:

Answer:
A
Solution:

Given,

x2a2+y2b2=1 meets the line x7+y26=1 on the x-axis, so at x-axis y=0 putting in both equation and comparing we get, a=7

And x2a2+y2b2=1 meets the line x7-y26=1 on the y-axis where x=0 so putting in both equation and comparing we get, b=26

Therefore, e2=1-b2a2=1-2449

e=2549=57
