Total charge on four oxide ions $= - 2 \times 4 = - 8$

Let ' n ' no.of $X^{- 8/3}$ ions will replace $O^{2 -}$ ions

$∴ n \times \frac{- 8}{3} = - 8 \Rightarrow n = 3$

∴ One vacancy will be created
