Aq. solution of which salt produce blue solution with exess :-
Options:(select one or more)
Answer:
A, D
Solution:
CuSO₄·5H₂O and NiSO₄·7H₂O both form colored ammine complexes with excess NH₄OH. Cu²⁺ forms a deep blue tetraammine copper(II) complex , while Ni²⁺ forms a blue/violet hexaammine complex . Hence, both give blue-colored solutions in excess ammonia. This reaction is used as a confirmatory test for Cu²⁺ and Ni²⁺ in salt analysis.
