Which one among the following is the mild oxidizing agent?

Options:

Answer:
A
Solution:

CrO 2 Cl 2  is mild oxidising agent.

In this compound Cr is surrounded by less electrongative Cl atom rather than oxygen so it does not produce so much positve charge on chromium in comparision to other compound containing highly electronegative O atom. So, due to relativily low value of Standard Reduction potential it act as mild oxidising agent.

KMnO 4 ,HNO 3 and K 2 Cr 2 O 7  are strong oxidising agent due to high  Standard Reduction potential.
