Lassaigne's test is used for the detection of nitrogen and given by all nitrogenous compound except diazo
compounds. This test is shown only by the compounds containing $C$ and $N$ both hence hydroxyl amine hydrochloride $(H_{2} NOH . HCl)$ will not perform this test.
