Thus, only O₂⁺ is paramagnetic. All three have HOMO as antibonding. So, Statement (I) is false.

 

Statement (II): Due to 2s-2p mixing in N₂, the energy of bonding MO is lower than bonding MO. This is a correct statement.

 

Therefore, Statement (I) is false but Statement (II) is true.
