Epimers are pair of diastereomers which differ in their configuration at only single chiral carbon. Example, glucose and mannose are$\mathrm{C}-2$epimers(difference is at$2^{\mathrm{n}\mathrm{d}}$carbon) and glucose and galactose are$\mathrm{C}-4$epimers (differ at$4^{\mathrm{t}\mathrm{h}}$carbon).
