Photosynthesis consists of 2 steps :

1. Light reactions	It is concerned with trapping the light energy for the synthesis of ATP and NADPH.	Membranous system consisting of grana and stroma lamellae in chloroplast.
2. Dark reactions (Doesn’t mean that they occur in darkness or that they are not light- dependent).	Utilization of products of light reactions by the enzymatic reactions alongwith CO2 to synthesise the sugar which in turn forms starch.	Stroma in chloroplast.

Non cyclic process involves both PSI and PSII and both are present in Granal lamellae, but stromal lamella contains only PSI. From light reaction total 18 ATP and 12 NADPH2 is formed.
The excited electron does not pass on to NADP⁺but is
cycled back to the PS I complex through the electron transport chain.
