Also, it is a greenhouse gas helping in keeping the atmosphere warm enough to sustain life. However, excessive release of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by anthropogenic activities has led to increase in atmospheric pollution. Also, higher quantity of it has increased the global temperature due to its greenhouse effect.
