During telophase, the following events are observed:

1. Chromosomes cluster at opposite spindle poles and their identity is lost as discrete elements.
2. Nuclear envelope develops around the chromosome clusters at each pole forming two daughter nuclei.
3. Nucleolus, golgi complex and ER reform.

During anaphase, the chromatids of the chromosomes split and starts to migrate towards the poles. It is the best stage to study the position of the centromere.
