During which phase(s) of the cell cycle, the amount of DNA in a cell remains at 4C level if the initial amount is denoted as 2C?
Options:
Answer:
C
Solution:
Cell cycle consists of Interphase and Mitotic phase. Interphase is divided into, S andstages. Mitotic Phase is the actual division phase and is divided into Karyokinesis and Cytokinesis. DNA is seen in all phases. In M phase both 4C and 2C of DNA is seen. In S phase the synthesis of DNA takes place and hence the amount of DNA doubles. Thus after S phase inphase the DNA doubles i.e. it becomes 4C.
