Members of class Phycomycetes are also called algal fungi. In these members, asexual reproduction takes place by non-motile aplanospores and motile zoospores. Phycomycetes is the only class of fungi in which septa are absent so their mycelium becomes coenocytic (multinucleated). Sexual reproduction takes place by the fusion of gametes due to which diploid zygospore is formed. Albugo is parasitic fungi of mustard leaves.
