Options:
Answer:
Solution:
Methanogens are included in the group Archaebacteria that can grow under extreme conditions like high or low temperature, high pH value. They are coccoid (spherical shape) or bacilli (rod shape). They are anaerobic organisms and they cannot function under aerobic conditions. Methanogens are used to produce methane. Biogas is a mixture of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and hydrogen disulfide in which methane is present in a higher amount. It is produced when the organic matter breaks down in the absence of oxygen.
